Episcopal Visit to the Parish of the Valley

Bishop Shane Parker will visiting the Parish of the Valley this spring to celebrate Trinity Sunday on June 12th 2022.

We now have two services planned with Bishop Shane:

Sunday, June 12th 2022 at 10am at Holy Trinity, Pembroke: This special service will include the licensing by our bishop of our parish’s three lay readers in training: Wendy Cayen, Jennifer Cross and Lorna Sibley, following the successful completion of their two year training program.

We will also be formally commissioning all five of our parish’s Licensed Lay Readers, including Bev York and Thérèse Narbonne, for their continuing ministry across the Valley.

All are welcome to attend to support our wonderful lay reader team!

Sunday, June 12th at 2pm at All Saints, Petawawa: Bishop Shane will lead a service to formally rededicate the bell and bell tower at All Saints, Petawawa. The bell replacement project was completed late last year and rung for the first time on All Saints Sunday and Bishop Shane will rededicate it to the Glory of God on Trinity Sunday.

There will be no service at St. George's South Alice on Trinity Sunday, and the usual 11:15am service at All Saints Petawawa will now take place at 2pm. Services at other locations across our area parish will continue as per our usual schedule. We look forward to welcoming our diocesan bishop back to our area parish to lead us in worship and share with us in fellowship. All members of the Parish of the Valley are welcome to attend either (or both) of these special services!
