On Sunday, May 29th, a letter from Bishop Shane Parker was read at services accross the Area Parish of the Valley.
Bishop Shane wrote to advise parishioners in the Parish of the Valley of two important transitions. First, our Incumbent Bishop Michael Bird is retiring from full-time active ministry as of September 30th. His last working day will be August 31st. Bishop Shane thanks Bishop Michael for his important leadership in our diocese and in our parish over the last four years and wishes him well in his retirement.
Second, Bishop Shane is pleased to appoint the Rev. Matthew Brown as the new Incumbent of the Parish of the Valley, effective May 13th. Rev. Matthew has been offering, and will continue to offer leadership to our clergy team and lay leaders as we work together in ministry in the Parish of the Valley.
