As part of our online worship for Sunday January 2, 2022 the Parish of the Valley is pleased to share an Advent Evensong “Celebration of Light,” a traditional service of Evening Prayer taken from the Anglican Book of Common Prayer. It was recorded at the Church of St. John the Evangelist Eganville on the Second Sunday of Advent, December 5, 2021. St. John’s choir is accompanied by the officiant, the Rev. Canon Susan Clifford. The preacher is the Right Reverend Michael Bird. The first reading is read by Joan Boldt, and the second reading and intercessions are read by Wendy Cayen. St. John’s organist and director of music is Betty Studd. St. John's celebrates this “Celebration of Light” service annually, to raise funds in support of the education of children in Uganda, through Kenneth Kasule’s “Wide Smiles for All Through Education” charity.
