Episcopal Visit to the Parish of the Valley
Bishop Shane Parker will be visiting the Parish of the Valley this Sunday June 12th 2022: Trinity Sunday. We have two special services planned with our Bishop: Sunday, June 12th 2022 at 10am at Holy Trinity, Pembroke: This special service will include the licensing by our bishop of our parish’s three lay readers in training: Wendy Cayen, Jennifer Cross and Lorna Sibley, following the successful completion of their two year training program. We will also be formally commissioning all five of our parish’s Licensed Lay Readers, including Bev York and Thérèse Narbonne, for their continuing ministry across the Parish of the Valley. All are welcome to attend to support our wonderful lay reader team! Sunday, June 12th at 2pm at All Saints, Petawawa: Bishop Shane will lead a service to formally rededicate the church bell and bell tower. The bell replacement project was completed late last year and the bell rung for the first time on All Saints Sunday. Bishop Shane will rededicate the bell together with the All Saints presider's chair. There will be no service at St. George's South Alice this Sunday, and the usual 11:15am service at All Saints Petawawa will now take place at 2pm. Services at all other locations across our area parish will continue as per our usual schedule. We look forward to welcoming Bishop Shane to lead us in worship and share with us in fellowship. All members of the Parish of the Valley are most welcome to attend either (or both) of these special services with our bishop! |

COVID-19 Protocol UpdatesDiocese of Ottawa Now in "Green" Stage On June 1st, 2022 the Anglican Diocese of Ottawa moved to the "Green" stage in our Diocesan COVID-19 Plan. What this means is that masking is now optional in all spaces across the Parish of the Valley. Please follow your own comfort level, and respect the comfort level of others. We are committed as a parish community to showing gracious respect for everyone's mask wearing choices. Masks will continue to be made available at the entrances of our churches for anyone who wishes to wear one. In addition, all those attending a service in the Parish of the Valley are reminded to self-assess before coming to worship and, if experiencing any COVID symptoms, are encouraged to stay home and participate online. As of June 1st, all congregations in the Parish of the Valley have returned to using the altar rails for the administration of Holy Communion, with the exceptions of Holy Trinity Pembroke (Sunday 10am) and St. George's South Alice which will continue to employ standing stations for the time being to increase physical distancing. Please remember that communion "in one kind" (bread only) is considered full communion in the Anglican tradition and no one is obligated to receive from the common cup. At this time, congregations may also resume passing the offering plate if they choose, and all capacity limits in our churches are lifted. In many parts of our parish, coffee time has returned. Safety protocols for fellowship times vary church-by-church based on the physcial space and location. If you have any questions about these guidelines, please be in touch with any member of our clergy team or your local churchwardens. |

Supporting our Churches
We continue to be grateful for the support that members of the parish continue to give towards their local churches both during times of gathering together in person and during times of worshipping at home. We are mindful that during the COVID-19 pandemic the vast majority of our regular church expenses continue, including mundane items like utility bills. To ensure the continued financial health of our ministries, all members of the Parish of the Valley are encouraged to make regular offerings to their home churches. There are a number of ways that you can give:
