World Day of Prayer ServicesThis Afternoon The World Day of Prayer is a global ecumenical movement led by Christian women who welcome all to join in prayer and action for peace and justice. Today is World Day of Prayer 2026. This year's theme is "I Will Give You Rest: Come," prepared by Christian women in Nigeria, and it focuses on burdens like shame, oppression, and poverty, and finding rest in God's love and community. This global, ecumenical event features a continuous wave of prayer starting in Samoa and moving around the world, using services written by women from different countries each year. The Parish of the Valley is pleased to be participating in three services across the parish. Rev. Matthew will preach at the Pembroke service. Pembroke at 2pm hosted by Holy Trinity Pembroke All are welcome and encouraged to attend one of these services as we come together across denominations to pray. Coldest Night of the YearThank You! Thank you to all the walkers and volunteers, as well as to everyone who donated to the Parish of the Valley's team in last weekend’s Coldest Night of the Year walk. In addition to the $1,000 rest stop generously sponsored by St. Paul’s Cobden through the 2025 Yates Bequest donations, our parish team raised an additional $972 for The Grind, for a grand total of $1,972 — with some funds still to come in! Overall, our local community raised over $120,000 for the important work that The Grind offers to vulnerable residents of our region. Thank you! |
