Sponsor a Bible!Bible Study at Caressant Care Retirement Home in Cobden One of the Parish of the Valley’s Licensed Lay Readers, Bev York, has recently started a Bible Study Group for residents of Caressant Care Retirement Home in Cobden. Thus far, the group have been using Bible reading print-outs, but our parish would like to supply the group with large-font Bibles to support them in their scripture studies. Thanks to our friends at Liturgica Ottawa we have been able to obtain a discount rate on an order of 8 Large Print NRSV Bibles. If you would like to sponsor one of these Bibles for the benefit of the Caressant Care Bible Study group, the amount per Bible is $40. Donations can be made payable to “Holy Trinity Anglican Church” and submitted to Gail at our Aborn House office. You will receive a tax receipt for your donation. Thank you for supporting this new ministry! |

Reverse Advent Boxes Drop Off
Thank you to everyone across the parish who worked to fill a “Reverse Advent Box” this Advent and Christmas season. If you have not already dropped off your box either at church or at a local service provider, please feel free to bring it to church on Sunday or to the office at Aborn House during opening hours (Monday-Friday, 9am-Noon) and we will arrange to deliver all of the boxes to our local food banks and service providers. Whether you completed the box as a part of Messy Church or through the list of ideas distributed at Sunday worship, we are grateful for your continuing support of our wider community and those who are in need amongst us. |

Coldest Night of the YearSaturday, February 28th On Saturday, February 28th communities throughout the Ottawa Valley will be walking the streets of Pembroke in support of those facing homelessness and insecure housing, raising funds for The Grind as a part of the Coldest Night of the Year initiative. St. Paul's Cobden has generously sponsored a rest-stop on behalf of our Parish of the Valley. Rest-stops will provide warming refreshments for walkers throughout the walk. Volunteers are now being requested to support the Coldest Night of the Year on the day. These positions include a variety of indoor and outdoor positions (greeters and cheerleaders, setup/teardown crew, etc.) You can learn more and register at https://cnoy.org/volunteer. In the drop-down location box, scroll down to find and select "Pembroke - The Grind Pembroke" and you will be shown volunteer opportunities for our local event. You can also register to fundraise - with or without walking. If you would like to fundraise, you can click the link "register" at the link below. Please select "Anglican Parish of the Valley" as your team! If you would like to donate to the Anglican Parish of the Valley team, you can do so at our team page here.
