Wide Smiles for All Through Education

Wide Smiles for All Through Education

Wednesday, June 18 at 5pm

All are invited to a Farewell Potluck for Kenneth Kasule from Wide Smiles for All Through Education on Wednesday, June 18th at 5pm at St. John’s, Eganville. Please bring a dish to share and enjoy fellowship as we thank Kenneth for his visit with us over these past weeks. For any questions about the potluck, or to RSVP that you are coming to assist with planning, please contact Karen Mann, People's Warden for St. John's, at 905-984-9310 or kattwell2@icloud.com.

There are still a few opportunities to hear from Kenneth about the work of Wide Smiles to date and their plans for the future. Please join in on June 8th following the 11am service at St. Paul's Cobden or June 15th following the 9am service at St. John's Tramore.

Save the Date! 

Our next Messy Church gathering will be Friday, June 20th - join us from 4:30pm - at Holy Trinity, Pembroke.

Messy Church is an interactive and intergenerational experience that combines faith, food, and fun.

We will begin downstairs in the Church Hall with an opening story, activities, games and crafts, a time of celebration (songs and prayer), and finish with sharing a meal (one that is completely prepared for you!). 

All are welcome! There are activities for all ages and stages. Come be fed and nourished physically and spiritually!

Bring your curiosity and wiggles, and join in the fun as we gather together as families of all shapes, sizes, and ages from across the parish.

For June 2025

Beginning in June a number of congregations across our parish hold annual cemetery memorial services. Details for services being held in the month of June are listed below. Dates and times for cemetery services held in July and August will be announced later this spring.

Sunday, June 1 at 2pm: St. Thomas, Rankin Cemetery

Sunday, June 8 at 2pm: St. Patrick’s, Lower Stafford Cemetery

Sunday, June 15 at 11am: St. John’s, Eganville Cemetery, held in the church with an optional walk or drive to the cemetery following the service

Sunday, June 22 at 2pm: St. Stephen’s, Micksburg Cemetery

Sunday, June 22 at 7pm: Cobden Union Cemetery (rain location Grace United Church, Cobden)

The Big Give Cobden

The Big Give Cobden

St. Paul’s Cobden is pleased to support The Big Give again this year.

It will be held Saturday, June 7th from 9am to 12pm (43 Astrolabe Rd, Cobden).

There will be a massive Yard "Sale," a Kids Zone, BBQ (10am Start), Live Music, Baked Goods & Coffee. Everything is free and everyone is welcome!

June 8th - Pentecost Sunday

Four times per year the Parish of the Valley holds Food Bank Sunday, when we bring donations for our local food banks to church on Sunday. Our next Food Bank Sunday will be on June 8th -- the Feast of Pentecost. Thank you for your support of our local food banks as we seek to serve our neighbours.

The next service in St. Augustine’s Chapel, Beachburg will be held on Sunday, June 8th, the Feast of Pentecost, at 7pm, led by Rev. Matthew and Rev. Gillian (with help from Lily and Thomas!) All are welcome!

Seeking Organist

For St. Paul's Cobden

St. Paul’s, Cobden is seeking a church organist beginning July 1, 2025.

We are looking for an applicant who is working at, or approaching a Grade 10 piano competeny level. While expeirence in organ playing and liturgical worship are an asset, we are willing to work with the right candidate. The successful candidate will collaborate with our clergy team in providing leadership and accompaniment for congregational singing, including hymns and sung liturgy, as well as providing prelude and postlude music and other incidental music as/when needed. Regularly scheduled services at St. Paul's are Sundays at 11 am.
