Holy Week & Easter Services
This Sunday, Palm & Passion Sunday, marks our entry into Holy Week. We encourage you to join in as we journey together through the poignant events of Holy Week, from Palm & Passion Sunday to Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and ultimately to the joyous celebration of the Easter Vigil and Easter Sunday morning. Through prayer, reflection, and worship, we will remember the death of Jesus Christ and rejoice in his resurrection. Food Bank SundayThis Sunday, March 24th Four times per year we have "Food Bank Sunday" across the parish, and our next one will be this Sunday, Palm Sunday, March 24th. Donations to your local food bank can be brought to worship on Sunday or you can drop them off at your local food bank during the week. Dances of Universal PeaceSimple Dances & Chants to Delight the Heart and Feed the Soul All are welcome to join in Dances of Universal Peace, an interfaith tradition of sacred dance and spiritual practice dedicated to peace. It will be held this Sunday afternoon, March 24th from 2-4pm at the ECHO Centre in Eganville. The dances are simple and easy to learn. For more information, please speak with Rev. Claire. Palm Cross Folding
On Wednesday of Holy Week, March 27th, following the 10am Eucharist at Holy Trinity Pembroke, anyone who is able is welcome to join in folding palm crosses for our clergy and lay eucharistic visiting teams to bring to parishioners as they make Easter visits for Home Communion. Rev. Claire will facilitate -- the group will be gathering downstairs in the Holy Trinity Church Hall from 11am. The Rev. Rick Durrett will be preaching and presiding at this coming Wednesday's Eucharist on March 27th to mark the 36th anniversary of his ordination to the priesthood. All members of the parish are warmly invited to join in and wish him well! |

Mark your calendars for these two Rummage Sales: Saturday, April 13 from 8:30am - 11am at Holy Trinity Pembroke, led by the ACW, 68 Renfrew St., in the Church Hall. Diocesan Learning CommonsChurchwardens & Treasurers Day The first offering of our new Diocesan Learning Commons is a half-day workshop for churchwardens and treasurers. It is intended for any churchwardens and treasurers who would like to learn more information about matters related to their responsibilibies for property and finances. Our Diocesan Director of Financial Ministry, Sanjay Grovery, and Director of Property and Asset Management, Joel Prentice, as well as Executive Archdeacon Linda Hill and Diocesan Chancellor Henry Schultz will all be present to offer leadership to this workshop. The workshop will be held on Saturday, April 13 from 9am-Noon at Christ Church Bells Corners. Rev. Matthew will be in attendance, together with a number of lay leaders from our Parish of the Valley. If you are unable to attend in person on this day, please do not worry. The material will be made available online later this year. Art in the PewsSeeking Submissions for Art in the Pews Art Show Are you a quilter? A painter? A photographer (either amateur or professional)? A potter? A carpenter? Or wood worker? A sculptor? Anything that is made by your hands with love and care is art and we would love for you to submit it for the Art in the Pews Art Show presented by the Holy Trinity Pembroke ACW. We are seeking art from anyone across the Parish of the Valley to be included in this show! Macaroni & Cheese Cook-offSaturday, April 27, 2024 at 6pm at St. John's Eganville. Who will win this year's "Holy Macaroni Crown"? The Eganville Ministerial Group presents the Macaroni & Cheese Cook-off: Local cooks in competition for the grand prize. For $15 per ticket, you can judge who is the ultimate macaroni & cheese cook and winner of the crown. Enjoy the different macaroni & cheese entries with sides of salads and rolls and a delicious dessert. There will be a silent auction during dinner. All proceeds go to the Eganville Rotary Club Charitable Fund for Mental Health and the Bonnechere Union Public Library Youth Program.
