Celebrate the Holy Spirit!
This year the Feast of Pentecost falls on Sunday May 31st. Our celebrations will be particularly special in the Anglican Diocese of Ottawa as they include the consecration of the Dean of our diocese, the Very Reverend Shane A.D. Parker, as the tenth Bishop of Ottawa. The Episcopal Consecration will be live-streamed from Christ Church Cathedral Ottawa on May 31st at 7pm, with a minimal number of people in physical attendance. Watch for a link to the service in next week's e-newsletter. Please keep our Bishop-Elect, his family and our entire diocese in your prayers. The Metropolitan of Ontario, Archbishop Anne Germond, also invites Anglicans from across our province to join in an online service of prayer at 2pm on Sunday May 31st to celebrate Pentecost. Click on One in the Spirit: Pentecost 2020 to read the Metropolitan's invitation and connect to the service. Moreover, the Sunday School teachers at Holy Trinity Pembroke remind you of their challenge this Pentecost, to the young and young at heart. They invite you to visit our Parish website and download a picture of a simple white dove. Print out the dove at home and use it to write down an answer to this question: "What does the Church mean to you?" Then have fun decorating your dove - colour it, paint it, bedazzle it - and take a photo of yourself holding it. Email your photos to Rev. Matthew by Tuesday May 26th so that we can assemble them into a parish wide Pentecost collage. Click "Decorate Your Dove Challenge" below to learn more! For more infomation visit:

Deepen Your Spiritual Journey
In this time of physical-distancing and self-isolation it is important to remember that while we are asked to be physically apart, we are never spiritually apart. Our connection with God, and with each other, begins with prayer. In addition to weekly Morning Prayer services recorded by the clergy team, we have been actively compiling a list of prayer links, downloadable devotionals, online worship services and other resources to help you deepen your spiritual journey at home. Click "Prayer Resources" below to find an updated resource list. For more infomation visit: https://www.valleyanglicans.ca/ministries/prayer/pages/at-home-prayer-resources
