Parish of the Valley Newsletter for September 26, 2025
One Parish-Wide Service This Sunday!

One Parish-Wide Service This Sunday!

Sunday September 28th at 10am in Pembroke

Celebrating Confirmation & Reception in the Parish of the Valley: this Sunday, September 28th, the Rt. Rev. Dr. John Chapman, retired Bishop of Ottawa, will join our parish to celebrate the sacrament of Confirmation and to formally Receive members into our worldwide Anglican Communion.

There will be one parish-wide service at 10am this Sunday, September 28th, held in Holy Trinity Pembroke (68 Renfrew Street). Five adult members from across the Parish of the Valley will be confirmed by Bishop John, and two others will be received.

There will be a parish-wide massed choir for this service (please bring your local choir robes) and a special time of fellowship will follow the liturgy in the church hall.

All members of the Parish of the Valley are invited to come together for this special parish-wide celebration, and also to wear orange as we anticipate the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. We will also be marking the 100th anniversary of the current building for Holy Trinity Pembroke, which was constructed in 1925.

Please note that this will be the only service in the Parish of the Valley on Sunday.

100th Anniversary Dinner

100th Anniversary Dinner

SOLD OUT - This Saturday, September 27

Cheers to 100 years!

While Holy Trinity Pembroke has a history dating back to 1855, it was 100 years ago in June 1925 that the cornerstone was laid for Holy Trinity's current church building on Renfrew Street.

Holy Trinity is delighted to be celebrating this milestone with a special anniversary dinner this Saturday, September 27th in the church hall. Bishops Michael Bird and John Chapman will be our guests of honour, together with many past clergy and past members who are "coming home" to Holy Trinity, some from very far distances, for this very special occasion. Thanks to tremendous support from across our Parish of the Valley the dinner is now SOLD OUT.

Refreshments will be served beginning at 5 pm with a turkey dinner following at 6 pm catered by St. George's South Alice, with support from many friends. Parking is available behind the church and in the Victoria Centre parking lot. The church's new accessibility ramp is now open, allowing easy elevator access. We look forward to celebrating together on Saturday night!
