Prayers for the Land of the Holy OneOpen Churches in the Parish for Prayers Archbishop Hosam Naoum, Archbishop of the Anglican Diocese of Jerusalem, has called for people and churches around the world to join him tomorrow, on October 17th, in a day of fasting and prayer for peace, reconciliation, and an end to war in the Land of the Holy One. Our bishop, Shane Parker, has echoed that call, urging the parishes and congregations of the Diocese of Ottawa to offer space in our places of worship for prayer. In the Parish of the Valley, we are very pleased to be able to offer two spaces for prayer tomorrow, October 17th. From 10am-Noon, Holy Trinity, Pembroke, will be open for prayers. There will be a service of Morning Prayer with prayers for the Land of the Holy One at 10am, followed by space for personal prayers until noon. From 4pm-6pm, St. John the Evangelist, Eganville, will be open for prayers. A Litany for Peace will be offered on the hour and half-hour. Please feel free to come and go at either space as you are able. Regardless of whether you are able to join us in person, we urge you to join your prayers to those from around the world to pray for peace. In the words of our Epistle reading yesterday, may the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, keep your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus as we pray for peace in our world. In peace, Your Parish of the Valley clergy team
