The annual Summer Yard Sale is back for St. Anthony’s Whitney! The sale will be open from 9am to 12pm every Friday, Saturday and Sunday, weather permitting, from now until Thanksgiving at the home of the Dunns: 24 Third Avenue in Whitney. Come shop a wonderful array of treasurers on your way through Algonquin Park!

In addition to being closed on all Fridays throughout the summer, the office at Aborn House will also be closed the next two Thursdays, July 23rd and 30th. Therefore, for the next two weeks, the office will be open to visitors Monday - Wednesday, 9am to 12pm. If you need to speak with one of the members of the clergy team during those days, please reach out to them individually to set up an appointment, or call 613-732-4658 and leave a voicemail message. Gail will respond to messages and emails when she returns to the office.

Please note the office will also be closed on Monday, August 3rd for the Ontario Civic Holiday.

As the summer months unfold, the clergy team will be taking some well-deserved time away.

Rev. Nick will begin his holidays on Monday, July 20th, returning on Tuesday, August 4th. Sunday, August 2nd is Outreach Sunday for the congregation of Ascension Killaloe / St. John's Tramore. This annual day has now been renamed the "Sandra Sharp Memorial Outreach Sunday," in honour of our sister Sandra's leadership in support of the many outreach projects of the congregation, and in honour of the spiritual and physical energy she drew from helping and advocating for others in need.

Please join in at 9am on Sunday, August 2nd at St. John's Tramore as we prayerfully consider how we might honour Sandra's legacy by contributing to the various outreach projects supported by the Ascension / St. John's congregation throughout the year. All are welcome!

Join the Church of the Epiphany for a Summer Tea and Silent Auction: Saturday August 15th 1pm-3pm. Held at the Opeongo Seniors Centre, 19 Stafford Street, Barry’s Bay.

Each year, a number of our cemeteries hold Cemetery Services, where we gather to pray and give thanks for those who have gone before us, those we love and see no longer, and to tend the graves of those laid to rest in our cemeteries.

Across the Parish of the Valley, we hold Cemetery Services throughout the summer.

• Sunday, August 9 at 2pm - Rockingham Church Annual Celebration (St. Leonard's Cemetery)
• Sunday, August 23 at 2pm - St. Paul's Combermere Cemetery Service, held in the cemetery
• Sunday, August 30 at 2pm - St. Clement's Clontarf Chapel & Cemetery Service, held in the chapel.

Following last week's storms, one of our Diocesan Community Ministries, Cornerstone Housing for Women, experienced devastating flooding at its Emergency Shelter location in Ottawa. A request for help has been put out across our diocese. In addition to financial support, a number of specific items have been requested, including fans, towels, shoes, cleaning supplies, and various food items.

Epiphany Fashions at the Church of the Epiphany in Barry’s Bay is now open for Summer Hours throughout July & August: Tuesday through Saturday, 10am - 4pm. Come and shop the wonderful selection of pay-what-you-can clothing!

Music lovers are invited to Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Eganville, for two concerts: Canadian folk legend Valdy will be performing on August 8th at 7pm, and singer-songwriter Connie Kaldor on November 22nd at 7pm. More information and tickets are available online at the link below.

Cost: $15/child or $30/family (Cash only. Please pay at St. Francis Chapel beforehand). Breakfast club: $5/child for the week - 7:30-8:30am

Enjoy imagination station, games, bible songs, and tasty treats.

Hosted by St. Francis of Assisi and St. George's Base Chapels, with support from local faith communities including Pine Ridge Community Church and Petawawa Presbyterian Church.
