The Ordination, Consecration and Installation of Bishop Kathryn Otley
This past Saturday, parishioners, clergy and friends of the Anglican Diocese of Ottawa gathered at Christ Church Cathedral for the ordination, consecration and installation of The Right Reverend Kathryn Anne Otley as the 11th Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Ottawa. More than 530 people attended the service in person, with many others joining online from across our diocese and beyond. The service marked the formal beginning of Bishop Kathryn’s episcopal ministry in the Diocese of Ottawa. St. Patrick's Plant Sale
The annual St. Patrick's Lower Stafford Plant Sale is happening now! It is once again a self-serve plant sale from two wagon loads of 1000+ assorted perennials. The sale began yesterday morning and will continue until the supply is exhausted. The wagons are located just off the corner of Mountain Road and Snake River Line. |

Food Bank SundaySunday, May 24 Our parish's next Food Bank Sunday will be next Sunday, May 24th. On that day, you are welcomed to bring any donations for our local food banks to church so that we might deliver them to the food banks during the week. We are grateful to be able to continue to support our local food banks as a parish, and know that our support is valued as together we seek to care for our communities. Book Launch and Author ConversationHands Like Roots by Rev. Dr. Therese DesCamp - Saturday, May 30 We are very pleased as the Parish of the Valley to be hosting a special book launch and conversation with author the Rev. Dr. Therese DesCamp about her newest book, Hands Like Roots: Notes on an Entangled Contemplative Life. The event will be held on Saturday, May 30th from 2-4pm at Holy Trinity, Pembroke (68 Renfrew Street). All are welcome! In a luminous and open-hearted series of essays, Therese DesCamp explores the meeting point of daily life with science and contemplative practice. Therese is a writer, spiritual director, minister and contemplative; a 2023 CBC Nonfiction Prize long-lister, author of numerous scholarly and popular articles, and a columnist on spirituality for the Valley Voice newspaper. While she’s been writing since she could hold a pencil, this collection of essays takes the reader deeply into the places where words falter. The Lyra Ensemble ConcertsFriday, June 19 & 26 The Parish of the Valley is pleased to host The Lyra Ensemble for two spring concerts:
The Lyra Ensemble is an 8-member acapella choir with a vast repertoire from a diversity of singing traditions. The concerts will feature music from: Macedonia, Bulgaria, Georgia, Germany, America and beyond. Come hear rich vocal harmonies in these beautiful spaces.

Messy ChurchFriday, June 5 Our next Messy Church will be held on Friday, June 5th in Micksburg at the Mickburg Community Hall beside St. Stephens Church (2785 Micksburg Road). The Big Give Cobden
The Big Give is back in Cobden on June 6th from 9am - 12pm. It will include a massive yard "sale," Kids Zone, BBQ (beginning at 10am), live music, baked good & coffee, and more! Everything is FREE!
