The Ordination, Consecration and Installation of Bishop Kathryn Otley

The Ordination, Consecration and Installation of Bishop Kathryn Otley

This past Saturday, parishioners, clergy and friends of the Anglican Diocese of Ottawa gathered at Christ Church Cathedral for the ordination, consecration and installation of The Right Reverend Kathryn Anne Otley as the 11th Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Ottawa.

More than 530 people attended the service in person, with many others joining online from across our diocese and beyond. The service marked the formal beginning of Bishop Kathryn’s episcopal ministry in the Diocese of Ottawa.

You are invited to read all about the service and see photos of this significant event in the life of our diocese in Perspective, our diocesan newspaper at the link below.

You can also watch the recording of the service here.

Book Launch and Author Conversation

Hands Like Roots by Rev. Dr. Therese DesCamp - Saturday, May 30

We are very pleased as the Parish of the Valley to be hosting a special book launch and conversation with author the Rev. Dr. Therese DesCamp about her newest book, Hands Like Roots: Notes on an Entangled Contemplative Life.

The event will be held on Saturday, May 30th from 2-4pm at Holy Trinity, Pembroke (68 Renfrew Street). All are welcome!

In a luminous and open-hearted series of essays, Therese DesCamp explores the meeting point of daily life with science and contemplative practice. Therese is a writer, spiritual director, minister and contemplative; a 2023 CBC Nonfiction Prize long-lister, author of numerous scholarly and popular articles, and a columnist on spirituality for the Valley Voice newspaper. While she’s been writing since she could hold a pencil, this collection of essays takes the reader deeply into the places where words falter.

For more about Therese and her book, please click "More Information" below.

At the event on May 30th books will be available for purchase for $25.00, with cash or interact e-transfer.
