Camp Lutherlyn Camp Chaplain
From July 20-25, Rev. Christine will serve as the Camp Chaplain for Camp Lutherlyn on Golden Lake.
As the chaplain at Camp Lutherlyn, Rev. Christine, with the Camp Staff Team, will hold a worship service each morning. The theme for this year is "Enough for All."
Each day's chapel includes a bible story and is accompanied by a skit and lively worship songs. Each afternoon there is devotional time based on the theme, and the chaplain is available to the campers.
The chaplaincy is also a ministry of presence for the staff and the campers, attending daily staff meeting, meals, and many of the awesome activities.
This year Rev. Christine has also been able to contribute to the swimming activities by being a lifeguard at the waterfront. It has given campers a few opportunities during the hot afternoons to have time in the water and it fits well with the Wednesday Theme of using our 'Talents'!
The Parish of the Valley is delighted to partner with Camp Lutherlyn and our Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada siblings to be able to offer Rev. Christine's ministry to young people in our region through her service as a camp chaplain. To learn more about Camp Lutherlyn, please click the button below.

Episcopal Election 2026
On Sunday June 29, our Diocesan Bishop, the Most Rev. Shane Parker, was installed as the 15th Primate of the Anglican Church of Canada. In his letter to us in the Diocese of Ottawa following his election, Archbishop Shane assured us that there would be "a measured and orderly transition over the next several months" as our diocesan staff and lay and clergy leaders worked through the processes outlined in our Diocesan Canons for the election of a new bishop. While we do not have a date for the Episcopal Election, based on the timelines outlined in our canons we can anticipate it taking place in early 2026. To help answer questions about what the transition will look like, how long Archbishop Shane remains our Diocesan Bishop, and many other questions about the process, our Lay and Clerical Secreteries of Synod have put together a helpful document that answers some frequently asked questions. You can read it from our Diocesan Website here, or download the pdf from the link below.
