Renfrew County VTACA New Healthcare Service in Our Community! Are you without a family doctor or nurse practitioner? Are you unable to easily access your family health care provider due to the COVID-19 pandemic? The Renfrew County Virtual Triage and Assessment Centre (RC VTAC) has been launched to strengthen access to primary care for all Renfrew County residents. The RC VTAC is a primary care solution to reduce the demand on Emergency Departments and provide Renfrew County residents, who do not have a family physician or cannot access their family physician, with the appropriate level of care when they have any health concerns. Through the RC VTAC, physicians and nurse practitioners assess and manage health concerns in multiple ways depending on the individual’s needs. This includes:
Many members of the Parish of the Valley have already used RC VTAC, with many remarking how easy and fast it is to speak directly with a health care provider: sometimes in less than 30 minutes! To access RC VTAC, simply call 1-844-727-6404. Have your health card ready. You will be asked a few questions, and then an appointment time will be scheduled for a health care provider to telephone you back. The Go Project Daily Virtual CampsAnother Great Opportunity for Kids! Many in our parish will remember "The Go Project" youth camp that was hosted at Holy Trinity Pembroke in the summer of 2018 in partnership with Calvin United Church. With COVID-19, The Go Project has now gone virtual! Each Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 11am for the foreseeable future, The Go Project will host an hour of online camp for children in grades 1 to 6. These one hour sessions feature storytelling, special guests, crafts, games and more! It's a great way to spend an hour of quality screen time, and integrate faith formation into distance learning. Parents can register their children and receive a secure Zoom link by clicking "Register for Go Project" below. The Go Project is a ministry of the United Church of Canada. All GO Project programs are safe and affirming spaces for participants, staff, and community members who identify as LGBTQ+, are of racial or cultural minorities, are questioning their faith, longing for a place to belong, and are of all physical and intellectual abilities.
