Announcement from the Bishop of the Diocese of OttawaAppointment for the Parish of the Valley Bishop Shane Parker is delighted to announce his appointment of the Rev. Christine Muise as an Associate Incumbent in the Parish of the Valley, effective September 1st, 2024. Rev. Christine is a priest with fifteen years of experience, almost entirely in rural areas. She currently serves a three-point parish on the northern tip of Vancouver Island, in the Diocese of British Columbia (Islands and Inlets). Her preference is for team ministry, and she is very excited to be joining the Parish of the Valley clergy team. Rev. Christine will reside in the Eganville Rectory. Please pray for Rev. Christine as she enters this time of transition, and please also pray for her current congregations of St. Columba, Port Hardy, St. John’s, Port Alice, and St. John Gualbert, Port McNeill, as they prepare to send Rev. Impact ZambiaPresentations During Coffee Time As a parish we are proud to support both the Rev. Allan Studd and Wendy Wilker-Blakley and the work they are doing with Impact Zambia in the Itezhi-tezhi region of Southern Zambia. Rev. Allan and Wendy will be travelling to Zambia this summer. In preparation for their time there, they will be travelling around the parish giving updates about the work of Impact Zambia during coffee hours and seeking our collective support. Branches of HopeTrees Available to Pick Up May 12th Trees ordered as a part of the Diocese of Ottawa's PWRDF Working Group's "Branches of Hope" initiative are being delivered next week and will be available to pick up at your home congregation on May 12th. The Diocese of Ottawa's PWRDF Working Group has a goal of planting 500 native trees across the Diocese of Ottawa this spring and will match trees planted in the diocese by planting 500 trees in Uganda through PWRDF's partner St. Jude's Family Projects. All trees planted across the Diocese will be counted as a part of the Communion Forest, an initiative launched across the Anglican Communion at Lambeth Conference 2022 which seeks to support local activities of forest protection, tree growing and eco-system restoration by Anglicans around the world. |
St. Patrick's Lower Stafford Plant SaleMay Long Weekend The St. Patrick's Lower Stafford May long weekend plant sale returns! From Thursday May 16th until the supply is exhausted, serve-yourself from the wagon with over 1000 perennial plants available for purchase. The wagon will be located at the corner of Mountain Road and Snake River Line (just down from the church) and will be outside until the wagon is empty. |

Everyone is invited to the Bay Day Garage Sale and Bake Sale - “Treasures and Treats” - on Saturday, May 18 from 8am until 2pm at 68 Kelly Street, Barry’s Bay.

St. George's Take Out ThursdayThursday, May 23 beginning at 3pm St. George's South Alice presents Take Out Thursday! Thursday, May 23rd beginning at 3pm at the Alice General Store (10679 Round Lake Road). The menu is a chicken finger sub bar with subs made to order the way you like them. Take the food home or bring your lawn chair and dine & visit with neighbours outside at the Alice General Store. Cost is by donation - a free-will offering with funds raised going to support St. George's and the repairs to St. Thomas Rankin. Trivia FundraiserFor St. Thomas Rankin - Saturday, May 25th There is still space for you to register a team for the Trivia Night Fundraiser to support necessary repairs to St. Thomas Rankin. Gather some friends, come up with a team name, and plan to join in the fun. Rumour has is that there will be a team of clergy from the parish to spice up the competition! St. Thomas Rankin is hosting a Trivia Night Fundraiser to support necessary repairs to the church's basement. It will be held on Saturday, May 25th at the Rankin Culture and Recreation Centre. Doors will open at 6pm with the game beginning at 7pm. There will be a cash bar provided by the Rankin Centre and snacks available for purchase provided by St. Thomas' parishioners. Episcopal Visit to the Parish of the ValleySunday, June 23rd -- 10am in Eganville We are excited to share that Bishop Shane Parker will be making an Episcopal Visit to the Parish of the Valley on Sunday, June 23rd. A single parish wide service is planned for that day at 10am in St. John’s Eganville. This will also be Rev. Claire’s final Sunday in our parish. All other regular Sunday morning services across the parish on Sunday, June 23rd will not take place. Help is requested for preparing the luncheon (sandwiches, veggie trays, squares, etc). For online worship this week, you can watch the service that was filmed live at Holy Trinity Pembroke last Sunday. It will be available for watching anytime from midnight on Sunday onwards.
