"In this Together"Getting Started Your Parish Task Force have been busy working on the "In This Together" diocesan reopening plan. We are aiming to open our buildings for worship on Sunday Sept. 6 in accordance with the "Amber" stage of the plan. Next week we will be sending to all wardens an information pamphlet outlining the basic information that worshippers will need to know when returning to Church, as well as a suggested guide on what first steps each congregation will need to take as we prepare to reopen. Members of the task force will be contacting wardens to discuss the plan in more detail in early August. If you haven't already done so, Click here to read the "In this Together" 18 page Covid-19 reopening plan as well as a general Parish checklist, as found on the Diocesan website. Our particular focus at this time is on the "Amber" stage. Your Task Force members are: Donna Smith, Epiphany, George Hodgkinson, Holy Trinity, Wendy Cayen, St John's, Sandra Sharp, Ascension/St John, Bishop Michael, and Canon Susan. Call any one of us for more info. If you need to reach your clergy, Bishop Michael can be reached at: 613-401-8976 or Canon Susan at: 613-732-0313. |
Determination!
Bishop Michael Bird writes: This tree sits on a large rock in our garden without almost any soil to support it. By sheer determination it sent out a root (on the right) that somehow made its way down to the soil and that root has sustained it and allowed it to grow into the tree that it is today. Challenges can be overcome if we live with determination and we know where to put down our roots! |

RevelationsWell worth the read! This latest edition of our Parish magazine contains a message from the Clergy Team, a letter from our Metropolitan of Ontario, The Most Reverend Anne Germond, on the importance of a "Summer Sabbath Rest", and various thought provoking musings and reflections. Many thanks to our editor Jean Ostrom, and assistants Naomi de Repentigny and Alexis Anderson for another fine job!
