Indoor Worship in the Parish of the Valley
As a parish, we continue to offer both in person and online worship. Our Diocese is currently in the "Yellow Stage" of our Diocesan Plan. (You can read the Diocesan Plan, "In This Together," here). This means that for indoor in-person worship across the parish, the wearing of face coverings remains mandatory for all in attendance, physical distancing is also required between members of different households, and all attendees at worship will be asked to provide their names and contact informaiton for the purposes of contact tracing. We are able to sing together as a congregation, provided masks are still worn by all while singing. We have also been permitted to return to the common cup for communion, meaning that bread and wine are now available to any who wish to receive. Please remember that communion "in one kind" (bread only) is considered full communion in the Anglican Church and no one is obligated to receive from the common cup. Logistics of how communion is administered will differ by church, so please listen carefully to the clergy officiating each service for instructions. Should you have any questions about our parish’s plans for worship, please feel free to contact any member of your clergy team, our main office at Holy Trinity Pembroke, or your local churchwardens. Happenings Around the ParishClothing Bank in Barry's Bay From time-to-time we'd like to share events or newsy items about things going on in various parts of our parish that are connected in different ways to our parishioners and our churches. Last week we shared the outreach that the congregation of Ascension Killaloe/St John's Tramore has been doing in response to the recommendations that came from our Parish Table Groups to the Parish Warden's meeting in March of this year. This week, we wanted to share the outreach that the congregation of Epiphany Barry's Bay has been doing in Barry's Bay! Like many of our churches, the Church of the Epiphany has a hall underneath of the church sanctuary. Parishioners at Epiphany have worked to make it a multi-use space and meet a need in their community as well as keeping space for coffee time when we are eventually able to return to coffee time after church. Beginning this month, August 2021, the Church of the Epiphany has a clothing bank operating out of the church hall! The clothing bank consists of five long racks located around the edge of the room with a mix of ladies and men's clothing. The clothing is offered to food bank clients for free and to the general public by donation. The clothing bank is open on Tuesday mornings from 9:00am to 12:00pm. Thank you, Epiphany Barry's Bay for sharing your work to meet a need in your community. Is there something going on in your church, congregation, or region of the parish that you'd like to share with the rest of the parish? Send an email to Rev. Gillian! |
Thank You For Your Continued Support of our ChurchesGive Online, by Mail or through P.A.R. - and now also through our website! During COVID-19 the vast majority of our church expenses continue. All members of the Parish of the Valley are encouraged to make regular offerings to their home churches by mail, online or through pre-authorized remittances to support our parish's ministries. Members of Holy Trinity Pembroke, St. John's Eganville, and Ascension Killaloe/St. John's Tramore can give to their churches online using credit card or PayPal through the website Canada Helps. Members of Holy Trinity Pembroke can now also give with a credit card directly through our website! Find the "Give" button on the Holy Trinity page here. If members of other churches in the Parish would like to take advantage of online giving through our website, please reach out to your churchwardes or Rev. Gillian. Every donation matters, so please click "Support Your Church" below to find out more about how you can contribute. Thank you for your faithful support!
